Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Eat With Me”

Tweetable Logline:

A foodie dramedy about middle-aged Emma who flees her married life to
crash on gay son’s couch where they revive their appetites for life

Elevator Pitch:

Feeling lonely and invisible in her marriage, middle-aged Asian mother
Emma decides to save her sanity by hopping on the next train into the
city to crash with her son Elliot, a young gay chef who runs a
struggling Chinese restaurant.

Elliot and Emma’s mutual appreciation for delicious food and hearty home
cooking breaks down the years of distance between them. Inspired by his
mother’s dumpling recipes, Elliot takes the leap from boy to man
through an innovative effort to save his floundering restaurant, as Emma
takes on the journey to discover herself and her appetite for life
again.

Cinematographer: Amanda Treyz
Editor: David Au

About the Production:

“My mother has always been the backbone of my entire family. All my life,
she has put herself second to her husband and her children. But now as
an adult, I begin to wonder whether she has lived to her fullest
potential, and whether she even remembers what her own needs and desires
are. Eat With me takes on the imaginative journey where my mother gets
to reinvent herself through the art of cooking, developing unexpected
friendships, experiencing new adventures and most importantly, the
search for her appetite for life again.” — David Au

Current Status:
