Sarah Silverman hasn’t had a regular perch on the air since “The Sarah Silverman Program” ended in 2010, but she’s turned up on “The League” and “Louie” as well as voicing characters on “The Simpsons” and “Bob’s Burgers,” and she’s one of the collective of comedians making freeform videos on the new YouTube channel JASH. And today, HBO announced that the edgy comedienne will be headlining her first comedy special for the premium network, “Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles.”
The special will be taped in Los Angeles in May, is presented in association with Funny or Die and will debut on HBO this fall. “We Are Miracles” is being directed and edited by Liam Lynch, who’s also a consulting producer — Lynch directed Silverman’s 2005 concert film “Sarah Silverman: Jesus Is Magic.”
“Sarah Silverman is a fresh, fearless and utterly original comedy voice,” said HBO’s Michael Lombardo in the announcement. “I’m thrilled that we can bring the humor of this unique talent to our viewers.”
