Tribeca Film Festival to Stream Seven Official Selections Online, and Host Vine's #6SECFILM Competition

The Tribeca Film Festival (April 17-28) announced today that it will stream seven 2013 fest selections — four of which are premiere titles — to allow domestic US audiences the chance experience the festival from across the country. Also streaming will be Tribeca’s first-ever Vine Competition, #6SECFILM.

The streaming premiere selections include “Alias Ruby Blade: A Story of Love and Revolution,” “Lil Bub & Friendz” and “Farah Goes Bang,” and short films “RPG OKC,” “Delicacy,” “The Exit Room” and “A Short Film About Guns.” They will be accessible to screen here, and audiences are invited to vote on their favorite feature and short, with the winners receiving a total of $16K in prize money.

For the Vine competition, filmmakers can submit a six-second film in one of four categories: #genre, #auteur, #animate and #series, using both the category hashtag and the #6SECFILM hashtag. An online jury will select the winning entry, and award the the filmmaker a $600 prize.
