Watch A Clip From Terence Nance's 'An Oversimplification Of Her Beauty' (Opens Friday)

Given that I’ve seen the entire film, I’d say that it’s tough to really capture it in any one single clip, as you would be able to with your typical, conventional narrative film, which this one most certainly is not.
The “Oversimplification” in the title of the film is anything but. If you’ve ever wanted someone so badly, who wasn’t quite sure if they wanted you as badly, or even at all, you’ll know just how *messy* that kind of situation can get, or that we, as complex, complicated, illogical, emotional beings, can allow to get, as you try to make sense of every word he/she says, and doesn’t say, ever action.
The film is also quite layered, visually and audibly, and rich with texture. I feel like you have to watch it all at once, or not at all, because one clip (or even two or three) just can’t give you enough to really get a good feel for and grasp of it.
But no matter, because Variance Films has released a first clip from the Terence Nance’s feature film debut, An Oversimplification Of Her Beauty, which you’ll find embedded below, courtesy of Nowness (the film opens in limited theatrical release this Friday):
