After leaking a single photo and then a footage-free promo, HBO has finally released a glimpse of a few scenes from “Behind the Candelabra,” the network’s Steven Soderbergh-directed original film about Liberace (Michael Douglas) and his lover Scott Thorson (Matt Damon), based on Thorson’s book of the same name about his relationship with the flamboyant performer. “Wow!” says Damon-as-Thorson in the teaser below, which gives more of sense of the arch tone displayed in the longer trailer that was screened for journalists at TCA in January. “Behind the Candelabra,” Soderbergh’s final film before his announced retirement as a director, will air on HBO on Sunday, May 26th.
