Oh right. “Red 2.” Sorry, entirely forgot about you there buddy. So is “Red” a franchise ready to play with big boys of summer? Summit seems to think so and even though there really wasn’t much need for a sequel, “Red 2” is happening, and it’s real and here is a new trailer to remind you of that.
For those that forgot, the film finds Bruce Willis playing Frank Moses, a retired black-ops CIA agent, who once again finds himself in the gunsights of another — this time, former colleague Helen Mirren. A missing nuclear device is the MacGuffin that gets Frank reunited with his quirky crew, which includes Mary-Louise Parker and John Malkovich. And then stuff explodes, wacky hijinks ensue, etc, etc. I’m sure you get it by now.
Whether this will survive against the likes of “R.I.P.D.” or “The Conjuring” remains to be seen, but “Red 2” will be hoping for the top spot from July 19th. Watch below.
