We’ve already had two recent films about the life of fashion icon Coco Chanel — the eponymous “Coco Chanel” as well as “Coco Chanel & Igor Stravinsky” — but she’s a figure that continues to fascinate, and now none other than Karl Lagerfeld will pay tribute, this time via Keira Knightley.
The actress — personally chosen by Lagerfeld to be the face of Coco Mademoiselle — stars in “Once Upon A Time…” a new short film celebrating the 100th anniversary of the fashion house. Lagerfeld gets behind the camera for the film, which is shot in black-and-white and seems at first glance to owe a good deal to “The Artist.” Not much in the way of dialogue, but that’s made up for thanks to, as you might expect, some beautiful sets, costumes and music from the opera “Tosca.”
Clotilde Hesme and model Brad Kroenig co-star in the movie that will premiere at Chanel’s Cruise Show in Singapore next month. Or you can keep your eyeballs peeled on May 8th when it drops online.
