Annette in “Mister Piano Man”

Annette in "Mister Piano Man"

Here’s a fun way to start the week. Orlando Florida-based animator Bob Duane took artist Kevin Kidney’s paper puppet of Annette Funicello – a “Golden Horseshoe Revue Annette” version – and animated it!

Duane a big fan of the Bill Justice/X. Atencio paper work for Disney and made this whimsical little performance to help draw more attention to the Annette Funicello Fund.  All her moves are copied from Annette’s actual choreography from a 1962 TV performance.

I don’t know what it is, but there is something about Annette’s voice that’s just perfect for paper-cut-out animation.
