Cannes: New Photos From Asghar Farhadi's 'The Past' Starring Berenice Bejo; 'Blood Ties' & 'Jimmy P'

Yes, the goodies from the Cannes Film Festival keep coming today. Earlier we had new snaps from “Only God Forgives,” “The Bling Ring,” “Inside Llewyn Davis” and “Nebraska,” and now some pics from a few more movies looking to grab some attention in the south of France. So let’s get to it:

First up is Asghar Farhadi‘s “The Past,” the filmmaker’s first film since his breakthrough, Oscar nominated “A Separation” and it looks like just as potent a drama. “The Artist” star Bérénice Bejo, “A Prophet” lead Tahar Rahim, and Ali Mosaffa feature in the story of Ahmad (Mosaffa) who lands back in Paris from his home in Tehran, to formalize his divorce with his wife Marie (Bejo). But when he sees her with another man (Rahim), everything changes. The first trailer was great and this one we’re super keen on.

Speaking of keen, also on our schedule is Guillaume Canet‘s “Blood Ties.” A remake of the 2008 French thriller “Les Liens Du Sang” (which also starred Canet), the story follows two brothers, the younger of whom is asked by his older convict sibling to go back into the underworld to help out his family. Clive Owen, Billy Crudup, Mila Kunis, Matthias SchoenaertsZoe SaldanaJames Caan, Marion Cotillard, Noah Emmerich and Lili Taylor all feature and that’s every reason why we want to see this.

Last, is one extra snap from “Jimmy P. (Psychotherapy of a Plains Indian)” starring Benicio Del Toro and Matthieu Amalric. Directed by Arnaud Desplechin, the story follows a WWII veteran (Del Toro) who returns home and suffers a mysterious illness erroneously diagnosed as schizophrenia by his doctors, so he seeks the help of Amalric’s analyst Georges for a second opinion.

The Cannes Film Festival runs from May 15-26.
