We’re in upfront season, which is traditionally when all the networks announce their programming for the year at parties intended to entice advertisers and attract press. This year, more than ever, nontraditional platforms are joining in the game (the “Newfronts”), with platforms like Yahoo and Hulu offering up their own slate of originals alongside the usual linear channels. Today, Crackle, who premiered a Milo Ventimiglia-led half-hour action series called “Chosen” earlier this year and renewed it for a second season in March, announced a lineup of originals for 2013 that includes the second season of Jerry Seinfeld’s short form interview series “Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee,” a half-hour comedy starring Emmanuelle Chriqui and Gina Gershon, and two films — a sequel to “Joe Dirt” with David Spade reprising the lead role and an action film starring Danny Glover that Crackle describes as “the first major feature made for digital.”
