Debut Trailer For Larry David/Jon Hamm Comedy 'Clear History'; HBO Pick Up New Mike Judge Comedy

Adventureland” director Greg Mottola has made himself something of a second home on television. He spent the early part of the new millennium directing episodes of shows like “Undeclared” and “Arrested Development,” and last year he directed a few episodes of HBO series “The Newsroom.” For his next film, he’s sticking with the legendary cable network, delivering the comedy “Clear History,” and a teaser for the film has arrived online.

Starring Larry David, Jon Hamm, Bill Hader, Kate Hudson, Eva Mendes and Danny McBride, the mostly-improvised film follows David as “a hipster marketing exec who sells all his shares at a start-up over a fight with his boss, only to miss out on billions when the company’s new product — an electric car — becomes a smashing success.”  The teaser (via EW) is a paltry thirty seconds, but it’s worth it to see David looking like . . . well, you just have to see it for yourself.

Sticking with the tech world and HBO, Deadline is reporting that the network has also ordered a full series of Mike Judge’s untitled half-hour Silicon Valley-set comedy based on his pilot which starred T.J. Miller, Thomas Middleditch, Josh Brener, Lindsey Broad, Christopher Evan Welch, Amanda Crew, Anglea Trimbur, Zach Woods and Kumail Nanjiani. All we know about the show is that it’s set during the current “high-tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, where the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success.”

Elsewhere on the dial is the upcoming premiere of the eighth and final season of the serial killer drama “Dexter.” The final season promises to complicate Dexter’s relationship with his sister (Jennifer Carpenter) and boasts the addition of Charlotte Rampling to its cast. Check out the trailer below and catch the final season when it premieres on June 30th on Showtime.
