In the midst of a world tour, producer Jean Marie Boursicot’s 30-year-old international advertising cinema festival, “The Night of the Ad Eaters,” is hitting L.A. for one night on May 31 at the American Cinematheque’s Egyptian Theatre. The special three-hour event features hundreds of the world’s most creative and outrageous commercials on the big screen; the ads come from 40 different countries.
The two-part Los Angeles program will include: ‘Singing America’ (popular songs in commercials produced in the USA) as well as commercials focused on celebs, the best spots from New York, Great Britain and Europe, Pepsi spots from around the world, Parisienne cigarette commercials shot by the world’s top film directors, and cinematic blockbusters in commercials. There will be a complimentary filmgoer wine reception at intermission.
“The Night of the Ad Eaters” has played in more than 100 cities in 40 countries worldwide including Tokyo, Paris, Moscow, Milan, Santiago de Chile, Beirut, Mexico City, Lisbon, Hong Kong and Geneva, attracting more than 300,000 enthusiasts.
