Watch: Drink Up For A New Trailer For Edgar Wright & Simon Pegg's 'The World's End'

We’ve got Supermen and Jaegers and Wolverines still to come this summer, but it’s fairly likely that we’d trade them all for a chance to see Edgar Wright‘s “The World’s End” a touch earlier. We’ve been looking forward to the third installment of the so-called Cornetto trilogy since, well, probably the minute we walked out of “Hot Fuzz” back in 2007, and the film’s now less than two months away.

To celebrate, a new trailer for the film has been unveiled over at Yahoo, which goes a little more in depth into the central characters (Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Eddie Marsan, Martin Freeman and Rosamund Pike), and their weird pub-crawl return to their home town that may decide the fate of the world. Take a look at the new trailer below. “The World’s End” opens on July 19th in the UK, and August 23rd in the US.

While we’re on the subject of the “World’s End,” Wright & Pegg have been spilling a few small beans on the film of late. Wright told a Yahoo Q&A yesterday that he took inspiration from reunion movies “It’s Always Fair Weather” and “The Big Chill,” while hinting at some secret cameos in the new film (while ruling out a return for “Spaced” star Jessica Hynes), and revealing that he turned down the first episode of the “Doctor Who” reboot.

Meanwhile, Pegg told Collider last week that, alongside a score by Steven Price (“Attack The Block“), the film will feature a retro soundtrack that sounds like it should sit alongside the excellent collections for “Shaun of the Dead” and “Hot Fuzz.” Pegg says “All music that isn’t scored in ‘World’s End’ was released between 1987-92. Edgar and myself had a blast delving into our music collections for the right period tracks. We put together a playlist that we would listen to whilst we were writing. We wound up with a bunch of stuff, some of which we were listening to at time and other stuff that we might not necessarily have been into but has since become somewhat classic. Everything from Primal Scream to Kylie Minogue.” Meanwhile, the actor’s keeping busy elsewhere; Screen Daily reveal that the actor will appear in the Australian thriller “Kill Me Three Times,” from the director of Oz hit “Red Dog.”
