Google Glass: Overpriced! Unnecessary!! Irresistible!!!

I’ve been reading a lot about the new innovation Google Glass.

It’s way overpriced, costing somewhere in the four figures.

It makes users look stupid and ridiculous.

It’s little more than the latest conspicuous-consumption status symbol.

People who use it must be interested in showing off howmuch wealthier they are than you or me.

The product has no real value.

In other words, it can’t miss.

Look at the secret to Apple’s success: Aggressively market shiny products that people really don’t need but somehow feel that they can’t live without.

Google Glass, which essentially enables you to communicate and look like a tech genius without the inconvenience of using your hands, is a sucker’s game. That’s another reason why it can’t miss.

And make no mistake, Google knows how desperate we are for recognition. The mere notion that some schlub is staring at you or pointing that that contraption strapped to your head will suffice nicely.

It’s all about presenting toys as products. Gadgets. Gizmos. Products. It’s all the same nonsense. And look-it, sure I have an iPad. And an iPhone. And an iPad. I am as a big a sap as anyone else. I lived a reasonably well adjusted life long before these products ever came along.

Now I can’t live without them. Of course.

It’s only a matter of time before you will see Google Glass as a part of my personage.

For now, I can’t afford it.

So I must have it.

See? Google Glass just can’t miss.
