Listen to a Bonus Track From David Lynch's Second Album 'Big Dream,' Dropping in July

Filmmaker, multimedia artist and transcendental meditator David Lynch is
back on the music scene with a second album, “Big Dream,” a follow up to his 2011 solo debut, “Crazy Clown Time.” The “Mulholland Drive” director wrote 11 out of 12 tracks on the new album, with the remaining one being his signature take on
Bob Dylan’s folk classic “The Ballad of Hollis Brown.”

Lynch describes his musical style as “modern blues,” saying of his
songwriting process that “Most of the songs start out as a type of blues jam
and then we go sideways from there. What comes out is a hybrid, modernized form
of low-down blues.”

The album will include the bonus track “I’m Waiting Here,” a
collaboration with Swedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li, which you can listen to below. Of the track, Lynch said “She brought her own style to this song, which has
a doo-wop sort of thing going on, but in a way it’s far-removed from the ’50s” — an aesthetic that calls to mind Lynch’s movies.

The album will be released on physical and digital formats on July 16th by
Sacred Bones. The LP will include a bonus 7″ with “I’m Waiting Here” on side A,
and a visual etching that was hand-inscribed directly into lacquer by Lynch
himself.
