“Computer Chess,” Andrew Bujalski’s fourth film, is gearing up for a theatrical run this summer with a new, retro poster. The film premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival before starting an impressive festival run including the Berlin International Film Festival, SXSW, and more. The “artificially intelligent” comedy about a tournament between computer chess programmers in the 1980s is set to debut in New York on July 17, but anyone anxious to see it early can catch it at the BAMcinemaFest in Brooklyn on June 23.
Bujalski’s past films include “Beeswax,” “Mutual Appreciation,” and “Funny Ha Ha.” All of his films have played at various festivals, and all but “Funny Ha Ha” have shown at SXSW. Check out the new poster and the teaser trailer below, and click here for a look at five funny gifs made from the film.
