Nigerian Actress Omotola Jalade Ekeinde Will Make USA TV Debut On 'Hit The Floor' Tonight
Nigerian superstar, and one of Nollywood’s most popular actresses, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, will make her USA TV debut tonight on the VH1 freshman series, Hit The Floor.
The actress made the announcement via her Twitter page earlier today:
A star on her own reality TV series in Nigeria titled The Real Me, the busy Ekeinde recently co-starred alongside Hit The Floor star Kimberly Elise in Ghanaian-American director Leila Djansi’s Ties That Bind. She also starred in Obi Emelonye’s disaster thriller Last Flight To Abuja, and Christian Ashaiku’s psychological drama Amina.
Hit The Floor follows the lives and loves of the dance team for the No.1 professional basketball team in the country. It centers on Ahsha (Taylour Paige), a sheltered young woman who joins the team against the wishes of her mother Sloane (Kimberly Elise), who knows this treacherous, tempting world all too well having been an original dancer herself. Olivia (Charlotte Ross) is the shrewd squad manager, Jelena (Logan Browning) is the ruthless star captain of the dance team and Pete Davenport (Dean Cain) is the former All-Star who’s come back to coach his old team only to have to contend with the girls both stealing the spotlight and distracting his players.
The cast also includes Valery Ortiz, Katherine Bailess, Jonathan McDaniel and McKinley Freeman.
Omotola doesn’t say what exactly her role on the series will be tonight.
