Open Road to Release 'jOBS,' Starring Ashton Kutcher, on August 16 UPDATED

Open Road will release “jOBS,” starring Ashton Kutcher as the Apple visionary Steve Jobs, nationwide on August 16.

The distrib scooped up the film in early January, almost four weeks prior to its Sundance debut. It was originally slated to be released in April 2013.

Also included in the cast are Josh Gad (as Apple
co-founder Steve Wozniak), JK Simmons (venture
capitalist and Apple investor Arthur Rock), James Woods (Jobs’ former Dean of Students, Jack
Dudman), Lucas Hass (Apple engineer Daniel Kottke), Dermot Mulroney (investor
and second Apple CEO Mike Markkula), Ron Eldard (Apple designer Rod Holt), John
Getz (Jobs’ father Paul Jobs) and Lesley Ann Warren (Jobs’ adoptive mother
Clara Jobs).

“jOBS,” directed by Joshua Michael Stern and from a script by newcomer Matt Whitely, is one of two Jobs biopics in the pipeline. The other film, currently untitled, is set up through Sony and has Oscar-winner Aaron Sorkin working on a script.
