Richard Williams 80th Birthday

Richard Williams 80th Birthday

Just in case you find yourself in Scotland later this month, I should mention that Richard Williams’s 80th birthday is being honored at the Edinburgh International Film Festival with a program of his work.
Canadian animator Richard Williams, famed for the Pink Panther and Roger Rabbit, moved to the UK during the 1950s, invigorating the British industry by distilling knowledge from veterans of the golden age of Hollywood animation. In partnership with Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival, these short films, animated sequences and commercials make evident Williams’ incalculable contribution to the quality and reputation of British animation.
They are basically showing a selection of short films (including A Christmas Carol, Love Me Love Me Love Me, and Circus Drawings), commercials,  titles and clips from feature films. Richard will be doing a short Q and A at the end.
If you are anywhere near this event on June 29th (at 1:45pm), GO!
