Focus Features has premiered the new trailer for “Closed Circuit,” a crime thriller from director John Crowley (“Boy A”) with a script penned by Steve Knight (“Eastern Promises”). The drama stars Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall as lawyers and ex-lovers tasked with defending a man accused of setting off a bomb in London in a treacherous terrorist case. Rounding out the action is Julia Stiles, who plays a hard-hitting New York Times journalist who is more knowledgeable about the case than she lets on at first.
The film rounds out the crop of summer thrillers and action movies with an August 28 release, and will hopefully inject some smart drama into the otherwise notoriously lifeless summer movie season. Watch trailer below:
