XLrator Media Acquires Twisty Political Thriller 'The Conspiracy'; Film Premiered at Fantastic Fest

XLrator Media has acquired all U.S. distribution
rights to the political thriller “The Conspiracy,” written and directed by Christopher MacBride and produced by
Lee Kim. The film premiered at Fantastic Fest in Austin.

“Christopher’s riveting film
explores the fascinating world of the Illuminati, conspiracy theorists and
secret societies,” said XLrator CEO Barry Gordon. “‘The Conspiracy’ is
a cinematic thrill-ride that challenges our notion of what is ‘truth,’ and reveals
those shadowy forces that will do anything to control it.”

The film, inspired by actual conspiracy theories, centers on two young filmmakers (Aaron Poole and Jim Gilbert) who select a crazed conspiracy theorist as the
subject of their new movie. When the man disappears without a trace, the filmmakers
begin an obsessive quest to uncover the truth that will lead them to an ancient
and dangerous secret society.

Canadian writer-director
MacBride’s thriller pitch “Echo” was bought earlier this year by 20th Century Fox with Shawn Levy to produce through his Fox-based 21 Laps banner.
