AMC will partner with Art House Convergence to offer sneak peek screenings of the first episode of the network’s upcoming drama series “Low Winter Sun” in select theaters nationwide on July 29.
Chris Mundy (“Criminal Minds,” “Cold Case”) serves as writer, executive producer and showrunner of the series, which is adapted from a British miniseries. Set in Detroit, “Low Winter Sun” is a contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge and corruption in a world where the line between cops and criminals is blurred. The ensemble cast includes Mark Strong (“Zero Dark Thirty,” “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy”), Lennie James (“The Walking Dead”), James Ransone (“The Wire”), Ruben Santiago-Hudson (“American Gangster,” “Castle”), Sprague Grayden (“Paranormal Activity”), Athena Karkanis (“Supernatural”), Billy Lush (“Generation Kill”) and David Costabile (“Breaking Bad”). “Low Winter Sun” is a co-production between Endemol Studios and AMC Studios.
Following the screening there will be a stream of a live Q&A at the Michigan Theater with Mundy and members of the cast, including Strong and James, moderated Mark Binelli of “Rolling Stone.” Anyone can participate in the Q&A by using the hastag #LowWinterSun on Twitter. The screenings are free, but donations are being accepted for Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
The series will premiere on AMC on August 11. See below for the full list of screenings.
Screenings on July 29 will begin at 8pm ET, 8pm PT, 7pm CT and 9pm MT.
