With the July 23 announcement of galas and special screenings at TIFF 2013, first-look images from anticipated films are coming in fast and furious. Check out Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde in Paul Haggis’ “Third Person”; and Andre Benjamin (aka Andre 3000) as Jimi Hendrix in John Ridley’s biopic “All Is By My Side.” Both make their world premieres at the fest.
Haggis’ “Third Person” also stars Mila Kunis, Adrien Brody and James Franco, among others. It centers on interlocking love stories across three cities: Paris, Rome and New York. (Our Cannes interview with Haggis on the film is here.) Here are the TIFF program notes:
“Third Person”: Love,
passion, mystery, betrayal and hope infuse Paul Haggis’ new feature, which
follows the interrelated stories of three couples in three cities, Rome, New
York and Paris — each with its own secrets. Starring Liam Neeson, Mila Kunis,
Adrien Brody, James Franco, Olivia Wilde, Maria Bello, Kim Basinger and Moran
And here are the program notes for “All Is By My Side”:
“All Is By My Side”: Jimmy James, an unknown backup guitarist, left New York City for London,
England in 1966. A year later he returned — as Jimi Hendrix. All Is By My Side
brings authenticity and poignancy to the story of the man behind the legend,
and of the people who loved and inspired him. Starring Imogen Poots, Hayley
Atwell, André Benjamin, Ruth Negga and Adrian Lester.
