Watch 'The World's End' Director Edgar Wright Get Tossed Back and Forth In His First 4D Interview

Many reporters prefer their interview subjects to be comfortable. Drinks are served. Snacks are provided. Sometimes dinners are had or weekends are spent together, all in the belief a happy subject gives a better interview (and a happy reporter will write one).

This was not the case for Edgar Wright when he sat down for his first 4D movie experience.

In the amusing video below, the director of the upcoming apocalyptic comedy “The World’s End” is tossed back and forth so much he can’t really concentrate on the questions being politely offered by Australian film critic Luke Buckmaster. He seems to be entertained, though, repeatedly straying from the questions and commenting on the wild, 4D ride all around him.

What is 4D? It appears to be a lot like the 3D screenings shown in American movie theaters, but with the added bonus of a moving chair, floating bubbles, and simulated wind. The visuals in the animated movie the duo watched don’t seem to be up to Pixar standards, but this medium seems to rely on other elements to envelop its audience in the show.

Take a look at the video below to see Wright’s response to not only a few fan questions, but to his first ever 4D moviegoing experience.
