“Escape From Tomorrow,” the provocative indie shot guerrilla-style at Disney World, has landed U.S. distribution via Producers Distribution Agency (PDA), in partnership with Abramorama and digital entertainment curator FilmBuff.
PDA, John Sloss’s distribution offshoot of his sales and management company Cinetic Media, is best known for releasing the similarly bold “Exit Through the Gift Shop,” which was Academy Award nominated for Best Documentary in 2010.
“This loosely constructed, starkly black-and-white directorial debut of
Randy Moore, which follows a family on their twisted final day of
vacation in Disney World, takes place throughout the theme park behemoth
and appears to have come together without an iota of permission,” Eric Kohn wrote in his review out of Sundance, where the film premiered this year in the NEXT section. “Moore
portrays Disney World as the ultimate horror show — and gets the point
across in nearly every scene.”
The film will get a theatrical release in select markets beginning on October 11th at the IFC Center in New York. It will also be available via FilmBuff on VOD day and date with its theatrical release on all leading On Demand platforms
