Will Vinton to Direct "The Quest" for Gnosis Moving Pictures

Company CEO Darius A. Kamali announced today the formation of Gnosis Moving Pictures, a global, multicultural studio with a focus on releasing one or two CG-animation or live action features per year.

According to their press release:

Gnosis is producing its first animated feature, The Quest, in creative partnership with Vinton Entertainment.  The film, which Oscar winner (and five time nominee) Will Vinton will direct from a script by Vinton, Andrew Weise and Peter Crabbe, and visual design by Bruce Zick (The Lion King, Wall-E, Finding Nemo, Prince of Egypt) is a Monty Python-esque, absurdist look at outer space aimed at all ages and will feature the voice talent of Python alum John Cleese.

Through their alliance with IPFranchise, Gnosis also is poised to take on the social and mobile free to play space, developing both original intellectual properties, branded studio titles and digital extensions of the Gnosis film slate, allowing the company additional marketing muscle.  IPFranchise, headed by Kandice Cota, currently is developing a social / mobile gaming platform for The Pink Panther franchise in partnership with MGM Studios.

Kamali, in addition to working in media, has been a vocal advocate for human rights through his work with the International Monitor Institute & Human Rights Watch.  He has served as associate producer on the Annie Award-nominated Igor, which was released by MGM &The Weinstein Company, and is a Co-Executive Producer of the upcoming feature The Hero of Color City scheduled to release though Magnolia Pictures in 2015.  He also has worked on a number of documentary projects with Jaffe, Weller-Grossman, Scott Free, and a World of Wonder Productions that have aired on network and major cable distributors including History Channel/A&E, CBS, and the Trio Network.

Gnosis Moving Pictures is headquartered in Los Angeles.
