The increasingly star-studded TV movie/miniseries categories have found themselves looking more like the Oscar nominations than the actual
Oscar nominations did this year, with the likes of Ellen Burstyn, Laura Linney, Helen Mirren, Alfre Woodard, Jessica Lange, Sigourney Weaver, Imelda Staunton, Al Pacino, Michael Douglas, Matt Damon and James Cromwell — each and every one of them either Oscar winners or
nominees — all nominees.
HBO’s Steven Soderbergh-directed Liberace biopic “Behind The Candelabra” has all the makings of a frontrunner here (it was official competition at Cannes, no less), though Jane Campion’s “Top of the Lake” and the third edition of “American Horror Story” could all do quite well too.
