Showtime Will Air Concert Doc 'Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of 'Inside Llewyn Davis''

The Coen brothers’ “Inside Llewyn Davis” will open in limited release on December 6th, and the week after, Showtime will air a concert doc featuring live performances of the film’s music as well as some of the early ’60s songs that inspired it.

“Another Day, Another Time: Celebrating the Music of ‘Inside Llewyn Davis'” will air on Showtime on Friday, December 13th at 9pm, but the concert it’s documenting hasn’t yet taken place. It’s scheduled for this Sunday, September 29th at The Town Hall in New York and is planned to include performances from The Avett Brothers, Joan Baez, Rhiannon Giddens of Carolina Chocolate Drops, Lake Street Dive, Colin Meloy of The Decemberists, The Milk Carton Kids, Keb’ Mo’, Marcus Mumford, Bob Neuwirth, Conor Oberst, Punch Brothers, Dave Rawlings Machine, The Secret Sisters, Patti Smith, Gillian Welch, Willie Watson, and Jack White.

Oscar Isaac, the film’s star, is also set to perform, as are cast members Carey Mulligan, Adam Driver, Stark Sands and John Goodman.

The film will include behind-the-scenes material from “Inside Llewyn Davis” in addition to the concert footage, and is being produced by Joel and Ethan Coen as well as T Bone Burnett and Scott Rudin. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will benefit the National Recording Preservation Foundation.

“Inside Llewyn Davis” is set in the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. It’s the fourth collaboration between the Coens and music producer Burnett. Nonesuch Records is releasing the film’s soundtrack on Tuesday, November 12. Here’s one of the tracks, Marcus Mumford and Oscar Isaac’s cover of folk classic “Fare Thee Well (Dink’s Song).”
