This fall the unthinkable will happen: an attempt to remake Brian De Palma‘s horror classic “Carrie” will hit screens nationwide. While the kneejerk reaction is to recoil in, well, horror, De Palma himself isn’t too concerned. “I know [director] Kimberly [Peirce], she’s an old friend of mine. Basically, she called me and we talked about the ideas of what she wanted to do and I had lunch with her,” the filmmaker recently told us. “But she’s an extremely competent, adept director and she’s got a great cast — I’m really looking forward to seeing it.” We have to admit, we’re curious.
