A brief new clip from the Toronto-bound art documentary “Tim’s Vermeer,” an investigation of the paintings of Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer, has arrived. Watch below.

Directed by Teller, the film spans a decade as it centers on Tim Jenison, a Texas based inventor who attempts to figure out how the 17th-century Dutch master behind “Girl with a Pearl Earring” managed to paint so photo-realistically — 150 years before the invention of photography.

The film played Telluride and officially world premieres at TIFF this week before hitting the New York Film Festival next month. Well reviewed thus far, the film has been called something like the “ultimate episode of ‘MythBusters'” and an “uncanny crowdpleaser” by Variety.
