Project of the Day: Sensorial Overdose in ‘Beauty’

Project of the Day: Sensorial Overdose in 'Beauty'

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Tweetable Logline:

A wicked psychological thriller about a man’s downfall into sensorial overdose.

Elevator Pitch:

BEAUTY is an obscure thriller depicting the metaphysical decay of a man after he encounters the most beautiful thing in the world. What is that thing? Do we see it as a spectator? No, but the audience will experience the transformation of this man from a meaningless existence to a sensorial overdose. Through crystalline hallucinations, highly evocative imagery and a rich soundscape composed by AKIDO, this man will discover the extraordinary potential of his new existence. BEAUTY will transport the audience to a mysterious, dark and impressionistic world.

Production Team:
Director/Writer: Colin L. Racicot
Producer: Simon Allard
Cinematographer: Laurence Turcotte-Fraser
Music by: AKIDO

About the Production:

“I’ve always been fascinated with the magical and poetic potential of films. I want to make a film that doesn’t stick to reality, that goes beyond that; a conflict that could be experienced in a nightmare or in a lucid dream. In BEAUTY, the audience will experience the kafkaesque transformation of a man’s existence from a dull reality to a haunting and crystal-driven nightmare. It fascinates me to even imagine what the most beautiful thing in the world would look like, and I’m pretty sure it would drive anyone crazy. BEAUTY will portray that impressionistic concept.” — Colin L. Racicot
