Carlton Cuse’s “Psycho” prequel series “Bates Motel” is coming back for a second season on A&E in 2014, the first having won accolades for stars Vera Farmiga (as Norma Bates) and Freddie Highmore (as young Norman). The season two teaser below opens to Billie Holliday singing “is it a sin, loving you dear like I do…” with the stomach-churning imagery of a dark figure working with sewn skin and flesh, assembling what looks to be an… organic model of the iconic Bates house. The “contemporary prequel” to the horror classic seems to promise more gore as the young Norman Bates becomes the psycho he is destined to be.
