‘Mission: Impossible 5’ Gets Christmas Day 2015 Release Date

'Mission: Impossible 5' Gets Christmas Day 2015 Release Date

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to pay for the fifth time to see the further adventure installments of Ethan Hunt. Yep, Paramount has set a date for “Mission Impossible 5,” which is now scheduled for a Christmas 2015 release. Currently, its only direct competition is Ben Affleck‘s directorial effort, “They Live By Night,” but of course, “Star Wars: Episode VII,” opens the weekend before and will presumably be a box-office juggernaut for at least a few weeks afterwards (everyone thus assumes the same-day-dated Duncan Jones‘ “Warcraft” is probably going to have to move to another date, or the following year).

Principal cast — Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton and Ving Rhames — are all expected to return, but who knows, they could switch things up if they liked. Christopher McQuarrie, the writer/director behind Cruise’s underperforming “Jack Reacher” is at the helm and he’s going to really have to step up his game and or hire the best cinematographer/stunt team on earth.

Additional new release dates announced today include, “Kitchen Sink” for January 2015, rather than fall 2014 (guess it’s a turkey), Screen Gems‘ “Beware the Night” moving to summer 2014 from an earlier January 2015 date (guess it’s improved), Columbia‘s “Sex Tape” comedy with Jason Segel and Cameron Diaz moving a few weeks back to August, 2014 and Universal‘s “Dracula Untold” moving two weeks back in October of 2014 (closer to Halloween of course). Lastly, Universal’s James Brown biopic “Get On Up” moves from fall 2014, to August 1, 2014.
