Computers make metal cubes very well. Everything else is difficult… well, it WAS. Nvidia has recently unveiled FLEX, their unified simulation framework. FLEX brings together and improves upon several things Nvidia has been doing with PhysX for a while now. The demo that was recently given in Montreal shows off the power of FLEX in real time.
The demo is quite impressive, especially the fluid and cloth examples. It will be interesting to see what this new technology will bring to video games and real time simulation in the future. FLEX will find its way into PhysX sometime next year.
