Project of the Day: Adam and Miriam Have a One Night Stand; They Both Wind Up Pregnant

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

“Two 4 One

Tweetable Logline:

Adam and Miriam have a one-night stand. They both wind up pregnant.

Elevator Pitch:

Adam gets a frantic call from his psycho ex.
She wants moral support while she inseminates with donor sperm—but she
gets a lot more. We discover Adam is transgendered while at a
consultation for phalloplasty where he discovers he’s accidently
pregnant. But Adam is becoming a man and men don’t get pregnant. So
obviously he’ll get rid of it. But just as he’s about to, Miriam
miscarries. She can’t have a baby. Adam is holding her only hope at
family. So, Adam reconsiders and realizes that to become the man he’d
always dreamed of being, he’ll first give birth.

About the Production:

While my wife was trying to get pregnant 5
years ago, I read an anecdote about a transgender guy getting accidently
pregnant in a queer pregnancy book. I dropped the book saying “Now,
that’s a movie!” By February 2014, it will be. Two 4 One, my first
feature, is a Woody-Allenesque romantic comedy about the most modern
family. I’ve been making queer media for 23 years and have never had the
attention span to make a feature—until now. This is a story yet to be
told that audiences are ripe to receive. It’s half funded through
Telefilm Canada’s Micro-budget program.” — Maureen Bradley
