“Castello Cavalcanti,” a short produced for Prada and written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker Wes Anderson, stars Jason Schwartzman and is set to premiere at the Rome Film Festival this upcoming weekend. The eight-minute film follows Jed Cavalcanti (Schwartzman) during the Molte Miglia rally in Italy in September of 1955. It may be made for a fashion label, but the aesthetics are pure Wes Anderson, incorporating dead center framing, wide angle symmetrical shots and the vibrant colors typical of his films’ set design. Even the title of the short maintains Anderson’s fondness for playful alliteration. Watch the film below:
