The American Film Institute (AFI) has revealed its official
selections for the AFI AWARDS 2013. Ten films and TV series were selected.
Check out what made the cut, below. This list looks close to what the final Top Ten (if there are ten) for the Oscar Best Picture race might be. Left off the list: Woody Allen’s “Blue Jasmine” and Robert Redford-starrer “All is Lost,” which may have to settle for acting nominations, along with Weinstein Co.’s “The Butler” and “August: Osage County.” These are American awards so they do not include British entries such as “Philomena.”
AFI will honor the creative ensembles for each of the
selections at an invitation-only luncheon on Friday, January 10, 2014 in L.A.
