A24 Films will open Jonathan Glazer’s “Under the Skin” stateside in select cities on April 4th, 2014. Check out the disorienting and gorgeous extended trailer for the controversial film below.
Starring Scarlett Johansson (the voice of the OS in “Her”) as an alien in human form on the prowl in Scotland, this is Glazer’s long-awaited followup to 2004’s equally divisive “Birth.” Loosely based on an acclaimed 2001 novel by Michael Faber, “Under the Skin,” Glazer’s third film since 2000’s “Sexy Beast,” was financed by FilmNation overseas and bought by A24 at TIFF.
Reviews out of Telluride, Venice and Toronto ran the gamut from fervent admiration to all-out bafflement. But former music video maven Jonathan Glazer is a director to watch, and word has it you’ll never see Scarlett Johansson the same way again.
