|“The Wolf of Wall Street” director Martin Scorsese will receive the Art Directors Guild’s Cinematic Imagery Award at their 18th annual Excellence in Production Design Awards. Honoring more than 40 years of Scorsese’s award-winning work, the black-tie ceremony will take place at The Beverly Hilton on February 8, 2014, right in the thick of Oscar season.
A prize given to those whose body of work in the film industry has contributed to the visual aspects of moviegoing, the Cinematic Imagery Award has previously gone to Clint Eastwood, George Lucas, Terry Gilliam, John Lasseter and Steven Spielberg.
Nominations for this year’s ADG Excellence in Production Design Awards will be announced on January 9. The ADG will present winners in ten competitive categories for film, television, commercials and music videos at the ceremony on February 8.
Scorsese’s new film, raucous comedy “The Wolf of Wall Street,” still under review embargo, hits theaters Christmas Day.
