Project of the Day: A Wall Separates Families Between Arizona and Mexico

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Tweetable Logline:

A film about the fight to reunite families separated by deportation.

Elevator Pitch:

Indivisible is about the real people at the heart of our nation’s immigration debate. The film’s main characters were small children when their parents brought them to the United States in search of a better life; they were teenagers when their mothers, fathers, and siblings were deported. Today, they are known as Dreamers—immigrants who grew up and live in the United States without documentation. Indivisible takes place at a pivotal moment in their lives, as they fight for a pathway to citizenship and a chance to reunite with their loved ones.

Production Team:
Hilary Linder — Director and Producer
John Ayala — Editor

About the Production:

“My passion for social justice and international affairs has taken me around the world, but when I decided to make my first documentary, I chose to focus on an issue that I believe will shape the identity of the United States for generations to come—immigration reform. As Congress began to discuss possible immigration reform legislation this spring, I wanted to show the human side of an issue that is so often talked about in numbers and statistics. Indivisible sheds light on the ways that existing immigration policies affect families, and the hope that many of these families see in reform.” — Hilary Linder
Current Status:

In production.
