Viewster Launches Online Film Festival with $100K in Prize Money

Streaming site Viewster has launched a new Online Film Festival, slated for
March 2014, with $100,000 in prize money to be award to the fest’s winning
films. The online festival is now accepting submissions through March for
original films with the theme “When Life Gives You Lemons.”

The jury, headed by independent producer and TOH! contributor Ted Hope, will
select three winners, with the top film taking home a $70,000 prize, while 2nd
and 3rd place winners split the remaining $30,000.

And this is just the beginning — Viewster plans on hosting four film festivals a year, with
the focus being on material outside of the mainstream. Submissions must be at
least 12 minutes long, not seen by more than five million viewers and must date from
2006 or later.
