Watch: Mia Wasikowska Faces Off Against The Outback In Trailer For 'Tracks' Co-Starring Adam Driver

It takes a certain kind of person to gather up a handful of camels, head out into the middle of the Australian outback, miles from civilization, and start walking, but that’s just what Robyn Davidson did and her story is chronicled in “Tracks,” the latest from director John Curran (“We Don’t Live Here Anymore,” “The Painted Veil”). And with Mia Wasikowska in the lead role, perhaps it shouldn’t surprise you that this is one will be worth watching.

Hitting the festival circuit this fall, premiering in Venice, our man on the Lido called it a “beautiful experience,” and it’s hard to argue with that verdict. Curran makes the most of this gorgeous landscape he’s given to shoot on and Wasikowska gives a terrific turn as a woman haunted by her past, who relates better to animals than people. And helping to keep the mood light is Adam Driver, a National Geographic photographer documenting her journey, who of course becomes more involved.

The Weinstein Company have the U.S. rights for this one, but no release date yet. Watch below and yes, you’re hearing M83‘s “Outro.” [The Film Stage]
