Watch: New Trailer For '300: Rise Of An Empire' Goes Into Battle

LOUD NOISES! Believe it or not, this isn’t about “Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.” And while this sequel does feature yelling, buff bods and outrageous costumes, it takes itself much more seriously, and with a higher body count.

The brand new trailer for 300: Rise Of An Empire” is here and it seems like if you’re a fan of the first movie, this won’t rock the boat too much. With only Lena Headey and Rodrigo Santoro from the original cast returning, this one sees a batch of new faces — Eva Green, Jack O’Connell, Sullivan Stapleton and more — talking loudly about battles or whatever in front of CGI backdrops, with CGI oceans and armies all filling up the screen. While Zack Snyder did co-write the script, this time around the reins are handed to Noam Murro. Here’s the official synopsis:

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel Xerxes, and told in the breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster “300,” this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield—on the sea—as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war.

“300: Rise of an Empire” pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes, and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

Like what you see? “300: Rise Of An Empire” arrives on March 7, 2014.
