Watch: The First 15 Minutes of 'Helix,' Syfy's New Drama Produced by 'Battlestar Galatica' Showrunner Ronald D. Moore

With a vague air of John Carpenter’s “The Thing,” Syfy’s new drama “Helix” looks promisingly creepy and chilly. The series, which is executive produced by “Battlestar Galatica” showrunner Ronald D. Moore, is set in an Arctic research facility run by Dr. Hiroshi Hatake (Hiroyuki Sanada), at which a team of CDC scientists, led by Dr. Alan Farragut (Billy Campbell), arrives to investigate a possible outbreak that turns into a life-or-death situation. Syfy has put the first 15 minutes of the pilot online ahead of the show’s January 10th premiere — check them out below.
