Attention, Filmmakers: PBS' POV Hackathon is Expanding to the West Coast

Already well-situated in New York, PBS’s acclaimed non-fiction series ‘POV’ is now adding a Hackathon lab in Los Angeles, marking the first time the non-fiction technology lab has been based
there. POV Hackathon is a competition that invites filmmakers, new-media artists, multimedia journalists and Web developers to collaborate with designers and developers to create programs that “reinvent documentary film on the Web.”

“Today’s technology creates a foundation for collaboration,” said Adnaan Wasey, executive producer, POV Digital. “The first step is identifying the people who will be good partners. We’re excited that many teams, going back to our first lab in 2012, are continuing their work and giving their projects life beyond the prototype.”

Applications for POV Hackathon must be received by Wednesday, March 26. The labs will be held May 10-11 in New York and May 16-17 in L.A.
