David Fincher In Early Talks to Helm Aaron Sorkin's Steve Jobs Biopic

Following their collaboration on “The Social Network,” it seems that director David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin (who scored a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar for the film) will re-team. Sorkin’s Steve Jobs biopic script, based on Walter Isaacson’s bestselling biography, is reportedly poised to have Fincher at the helm.

The Sony film is currently untitled, and has no lead actor attached yet. Let the A-listers start chomping at the bit.

This is the second Steve Jobs film to come together following the Apple visionary’s death in 2011. Indie “Jobs,” starring Ashton Kutcher in the title role, hit Sundance 2013 and then had a release from Open Road. Reception to that one was lackluster.

Fincher has now finished up production on “Gone Girl,” based on Gillian Flynn’s bestselling mystery thriller and starring Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike. Apparently, as with Sorkin, when Fincher finds a writer he likes, he returns to them. He and Flynn will be working together again for HBO’s remake of the Brit conspiracy thriller, “Utopia.”
