SundanceTV’s original series “The Red Road” premieres on February 27th at 9pm, and today the network announced that to accompany the scripted drama, it’s launching “The Red Road: So it Begins,” a series of online animated shorts.
Every Thursday, Sundance.tv will post a new short narrated by series creator and writer Aaron Guzikowski (“Prisoners”) elaborating on the title of the week’s episode of “The Red Road” — such as “The Wolf and The Dog” and “The Woman Who Fell from The Sky.” Guzikowski’s explanations are visualized by animation from Adam Gault Studio.

Each of the six “The Red Road: So it Begins” shorts will be available on SundanceTV’s website, social platform and here at Indiewire. “The Red Road” stars Martin Henderson and Jason Momoa as a local sheriff and an ex-con who form an uneasy alliance in a place consisting of two clashing communities — a small New Jersey town and a neighboring Native American tribe.
