Here's The First Image From Xavier Dolan's New Film 'Mommy'

Xavier Dolan — despite being still a few weeks away from his 25th birthday — is currently in post-production on his fifth feature film, “Mommy,” which is arguably his most anticipated. Why? Because it brings together two actresses who each blew us away in a previous Xavier Dolan film, Anne Dorval and Suzanne Clément (who as the co-leads in “I Killed My Mother” and “Laurence Anyways,” respectively, offered two truly remarkable performances).

The film follows Diane “Die” Després (Dorval), a feisty, widowed single mom trying to bring up her 15-year-old ADHD son (Antoine-Olivier Pilon, a Quebec TV teenage heartthrob who starred in the College Boy video Dolan directed last year)  is graced with the help of benevolent, virtually mute Kyla (Clément ), a neighbour who tries to help them start fresh.

“Mommy” is currently in post-production, with eOne is releasing the film in Canada (probably in late 2014/early 2015) and also selling it worldwide. But we’re tightly crossing our fingers for a Cannes berth first. Until then, here’s out first glimpse of the film itself, a gorgeous shot of Anne Dorval gazing out of a window, with Pilon out of focus in the background:
