Idaho's Sun Valley Film Festival Announces Star-Studded 2014 Lineup

From March 13 to 16, the Sun Valley Film Festival in Idaho will roll out the red carpet for filmmakers and movie lovers in Hollywood’s original ski Shangri-La. This third edition of the festival will serve up a film slate of over 50 features and shorts, along with new programs, galas, concerts and more.

On Thursday, March 13, Idaho Governor CL “Butch” Otter and First Lady Lori Otter will open the fest and introduce the opening night film, “The Face of Love,” starring Ed Harris, Annette Bening, Amy Brenneman, Robin Williams and Jess Weixler.

The fest’s curated slate includes 11 narratives and 15 documentary features from 11 countries. There will also be a special 20th anniversary screening of Kevin Smith’s breakout 1994 indie “Clerks,” with cast and crew in attendance. Other new films in the lineup including Cannes hit “Blue Ruin,” “War Story” starring Catherine Keener and “Words and Pictures” starring Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche.

In addition to films, the festival will feature unique special programs, events and panels, including its signature Coffee Talks with top industry insiders including Academy Award-nominated producers Ron Yerxa (“Nebraska“) and Jim Burke (The Descendants“), and writer-actor-director Kevin Smith and Mariel Hemingway. 

SVFF’s Screenwriters Lab will be hosted by Academy Award nominated “Dallas Buyers Club” writers Craig Borten and Melisa Wallack and will feature actors Will McCormack, Alison Pill and Joshua Leonard.
