Watch: Illuminating & Fascinating Hour-Long ‘Charlie Rose’ Interview With Bill Murray

Though George Clooney’s wartime drama “Monuments Men” underwhelmed with critics last weekend, the film’s release has been a thrill simply for the many appearances from its star-studded cast. That especially holds true for Bill Murray, who last month held a candid Reddit AMA talking the folly of “Garfield” among other topics, and now follows that up with an extended chat with one of the world’s most established interviewers.

The “Broken Flowers” actor recently split from Clooney, John Goodman, Cate Blanchett, and the rest of the “Monuments Men” cast on their press tour to stop by “Charlie Rose,” and the ensuing one-hour interview is at once forthright, insightful, and of course quite funny. While still keeping his mystique intact, an affable Murray discusses a wide range of topics: his constant awareness to try new experiences; the much-publicized methods of getting his attention for roles; and also his relationship with Wes Anderson (he praises “The Grand Budapest Hotel” as a “Times Square billboard dropped on your head”—an assessment with which we’re likely to agree).

We’re hopeful to hear more from Murray as this press tour continues and he moves on to his next slate of promising projects, but for now enjoy the delightful conversation below. [via Gawker]
